About Norwalk, OH - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Norwalk, Ohio is known as the Maple City, and it also calls itself the “best little city in Ohio”. Its central location, just one hour away from Cleveland and Toledo and two hours from Columbus and Detroit, has contributed to its success over the years as a business and tourist destination. The town was founded in 1817, taking its name from Norwalk, Connecticut, a city which had been burned down by British troops in 1779. Residents of Norwalk and surrounding towns were given land in the Western Reserve, and Norwalk lies at the heart of that settlement, which is now known as Ohio's Firelands. Norwalk today has over 17,000 residents and is the county seat of Huron County.
The city of Norwalk has 394 acres of publicly-owned open space, which includes 172 acres of scenic reservoir and 15 parks. The Summit Motorsports Park draws tourists to its national drag racing competitions, and the Huron County Fairgrounds in Norwalk host numerous events throughout the year, including the Huron County Fair in August. Other annual events include the Labor Day Weekend Music Fusion Fest, the Norwalk Autumn Leaves Festival in September and the Main Street Norwalk Ghost Tours in October. Norwalk has cold snowy winters, averaging over two feet of snow each season, but summers, while humid, tend to be warm rather than hot.
